Home Canning FAQ & Emergency Support

If you are in the middle of a canning disaster, book this. Our goal is to be on the phone or video with you within 15 minutes to save your project.

We can help with jar sealing and troubleshooting, timing and altitude questions, pressure vs. water bath methods, and ingredient safety. Support is available via video, phone, or messaging—whatever is easiest for you in the kitchen.

Whether the class is online or in-person, here is how the supplies work:
For Online Classes: You will need to buy your own ingredients before we start. We will send you a list so you can cook along with us live.
For In-Person Classes: You have two choices. You can bring your own ingredients, or you can buy them from us.
Note: Prices for our ingredients change depending on if we grew them here on the farm or had to buy them from a local neighbor.

Canning is our heartbeat. Born and raised Amish, I teach the traditional heritage skills I grew up with. While we specialize in Water Bath and Pressure Canning, our classes also cover:

— Homestead Kitchen: Dehydrating, fermenting, and food preservation.
With a community of over 43,000 members, we make these time-tested skills simple and safe for your modern kitchen.

No experience is needed. Our classes are practical, hands-on learning—not just lectures. You’ll be right in the middle of the action—preparing ingredients, filling jars, and practicing techniques in a relaxed homestead environment. Whether you are brand new or already preserving at home, you can learn at your own pace. We offer both online and in-person options depending on the season.

Life happens. If you can’t make a live online class, we provide a recording so you can watch and learn at your own pace. For in-person events or emergency help, please contact us as soon as possible to reschedule. We want to make sure you get the help you need without the stress.

You can book all classes, live help, and events at book.blossomandbrine.com.
Note: You’ll know you’re in the right spot because the booking page is gray.
If you have questions before booking, just reach out through our Contact Page or find us on social media. We’re happy to help you find the right class or project level for your goals.

We are based in the Cheatham County / Nashville, TN area. While we primarily operate online through our digital guides and community, we host in-person canning and homesteading workshops locally throughout the year.

While we respect and reference USDA guidelines, our traditional and Amish-inspired heritage methods may differ. We always provide safety context so you can make an informed decision for your own kitchen. Please see our Release of Liability, Waiver of Claims, Assumption of Risk, and Indemnification Agreement for more details.
